Suggest Cure For Vertigo, Nausea, Cold And Neck Stiffness

I have vertigo and nausea that comes and goes without warning. ENT said after Ct scan and MRI that it could be minieres disease. Been 6 months since diagnosis. Seen multiple ENT s who act like nothing can be done. I have to work. They prescribed meclizine and Valium. Both seem to work and then neither seems to work. Neck is stiff and I have had a cloud for weeks. What else can I do to relieve symptoms so I can work?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Meclizine and valium are used for a short time in the acute episode to help with vertigo and nausea due to Meniere's disease but they can not be used for a long time.

For long-term treatment, generally, doctors give diuretics that help reduce the fluid build up in the inner ear and improve the symptoms like Acetazolamide or Triamterene/HCTZ.

If these therapies fail then there are other noninvasive and invasive treatments (injections in the ear or surgery) that can be tried.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
