Suggest Cure For Wound In The Surgery Site

My daughter had a c section on 9/25 she has developed a wound infection at surgery site they prescribed an antibiotic but it has gotten worse over this last weekend. Now they want to open the surface area and clean the wound- I m worried - she is a bit heavy and had gestational diabetis YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

I can understand your concern for the wound in the surgery site of your daughter.

As I can get form your query that your daughter had gestational diabetes so it is quite common to find such kind of infection.

Your daughter's treating doctor is quite right in his approach to of cleaning the area. The method is better to maintain proper hygiene by cleaning as it prevents the secondary infection of the wound.

Additionally I suggest that the wound area should not be wet for long time.
She should also resume her daily routine and ask her to have one hour walk and daily mild exercises. By walking and exercises of mild nature also you get good wound healing.

Let her take a proper course of antibiotics for best wound healing and ask her to reduce weight.
