Suggest Determinative Test For Hypereosiniphilic Syndrome

In the late 1980's I took tryptophan which I later learned was contaminated. I developed muscle pain, asthma, allergic symptoms and no one at that time knew what was happening. I have suffered from all these symptoms for years. I now know I have elevated serum tryptase, and don't know how I could find out if I have hypereosiniphilic syndrome. I have about 75 per cent of the symptoms. Any suggestions as to what tests should or could be done?

hi,
first you need to check your eosinophil count. will suggest you to do a complete blood count and see a physician. absolute eosinophil count >155 will warrent further evaluation.
mutation analysis are available to determine presence of hyper-eosinophilic syndrome however these tests are highly specialized and will definately need hematologist prescription.
