To suggest you about best diabetic hospital and diabetician would request you to let me know which city does your father stay currently. However would like to mention you that diabetes is a very common life style disease and hence any physician will be able to guide diabetic patients well. An internal medicine specialist or Diabetician or an Endocrinologist are the ones who needs to be consulted.
Regarding diet less carbohydrate, less fat and less salt diets are to be taken. Avoid sugar, honey, rice etc. Consume plenty of oranges, apples, guava.
Regarding exercise it is ideal to do 30 minute brisk walk wearing a proper fitting shoes. This can be done after 5 to 10 minute mild stretching and warm up. Ideally in the mornings.
Do let me know for any additional information.
Take care.
Best regards, Dr. T. Shobha MBBS, MD
