Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have sx of acute diverticulitis: diarrhea, cramping. marked pain at palpation in the LLQ. I am an MD, 96 y/o and I forgot some of my medical knowledge. Questions: 1 - I started Amox Tr-K Clv. Should I ad Flagyl? 2 - What about diet? 3 - It is weekend. Do I do right or should I go to an ER?
2. Read up on trigger factors and avoid them. E.g. cabbage, cauliflower, coffee, rea, caffiene, popcorn, spicy food, fried food, fatty food, oily food, carbinated drinks, avoid stress, avoid long gaps between meals, avoid overeating, avoid gluten, avoid all sugar containing drinks and foods, etc.
3. You can wait it out, but a strict following of the safe diet will be required. I dont think this ER material so lets try to avoid disturbing them
Best wishes.
