Suggest Diet Plan For A Diabetic

well I am researching the drugs my brother is on for his diabetes 2 and I am astonished that he is on ten drugs. He has not looked after himself over the years and as a family have not seen him for thirty years. I and my younger sister have taken him under Our wing and look to getting him onto a much healthier diet and off of some of these drugs. He is 56 years old and one of the old school regarding his diet. We are in the early stages of reform for him. I am researching his ninth drug and feeling very sad that he is going through all this. I suppose there is no quick fix other than his diet and lifestyle. I don t know if you can help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods in each meal, including healthy fats, lean meats or proteins, whole grains and low-fat dairy in appropriate portion sizes. Choose fiber-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains (bran cereals, whole wheat pasta, brown rice) as often as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
