Suggest Diet To Be Followed While Having BP And Diabetes With History Of Heart Attack

Hi Doctor! I am Mr. P.S.Narayan a south Indian Veg. I am 73 yrs. old. My height is 5 8 and I weigh 63kgs. I am aBP & Diabetis patient. But both are under control now. I suffered a heart attack last July with one blockage in the first septal of 70%. My ECG is stable now. My creatinine level is 2.4. My blood urea serum is 63 now (test dt 17.6.2015. I am already on low protein salt restricted diabetic diet.My water intake is restricted to 1.5 litres a day. I am under treatment of Dr.A.R.Dutta Chief Nephrologist Fortis hospital. My appointment with him was on 26th june. But he is out of station & I hv next app. only on 24 july. Pl say whether rice and muri(puffed rice can be taken. we consume raw rice. Any other precaution?Thank u.

Hello,

Along with medications of blood pressure, diabetes and cardiac conditions, following measures of diet control will help:
- Low salt intake
- Low fat, cholesterol, dairy fat, junk food, red meat
- More of fishes, sprouted pulses, cereals, legumes, green leafy veg, organic fresh fruits
- Avoid complex carbohydrates
- Puffed rice can be taken
