What kind of doctor should i see for neck pain? it radiates upward into my skull. most of the pain is all along the back of my neck. My shoulders do not seem to hurt. I can feel a knot or a bunch near my spine, who should I see and what kind of tests are necessary besides a MRI. I am a 73 year old male, avid golfer, and otherwise in very good health.
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having degenerative changes in your cervical vertebrae giving pinched nerve pressure symptoms. At this age there is possibility of having osteoporosis as well. Go for x-ray or MRI cervical region. Go for S. calcium and vitamin D level as well. After all reports your doctor wil go for treatment accordingly. Ok and take care.
