Suggest Dosage For Metamucil

Ok to take Metamucil on empty stomach? I was told to take it by my doctor when I described that I have a lot of gurgling in my stomach which sounds like I am constantly hungry and when I feel like I have to rush to the restroom I end up with very little output even though I felt like I was on the verge of diarrhea. I do not have large movements

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, if you are having repeated urge of defecation, after thanking the drug, it's because if matmucil as it's a laxative whether you take it before meal or after it.

So it should be skipped or stopped if you have the symptoms as you discussed.

If you had these symptoms before drug then it might be due to IBS and may get better with mebeveramine and if persists gastroenterologist review should be sought.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
