Dear Dr. L K Shankdhar, I am 36 years old male. I have been taking Zomelis Met 50mg/500mg along with glyciphage G2 forte both together before breakfast and before dinner for the past two years. Should I continue with same kind of dosage or can I reduce it. generally sugar level is under control But some time out of control ( whenever I take some sweets).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
I must suggest that you have adult onset diabetes, that means your diabetes started in young age before 40 years of age.In my experience you have to be very strict as for as your diet and excercise , lipid profile is concerned. Keep your weight at lower level you are required. Kindly note no sweets, have cholestrol free diet. You have to keep your blood sugar under control, no options. Now you have lot of sugar free sweet things to eat no problem and plenty of sugarless things to eat to keep yourself fit. Therefore you cant reduce the dose. If i have to treat such a patient i will advice no oral antidiabetics , i will advice inj insulin to prevent the coming complications.
