Suggest Dosage Of Misoprostol For Abortion

Hi I was 3 weeks pregnant and had to terminate the pregnancy. I used misoprostol 800mg only and had a heavy bleeding after about 4hours. The bleeding was very heavy with lots of clots. The bleeding stopped the second day. I am worried by this as i do not know if the abortion is complete. Please advice, should i repeat the drug? Thank you

Hello,
In the current scenario, the most important thing that you should do is to see a specialist immediately for a complete clinical evaluation. Since it was a very early pregnancy, the process of abortion mimics that of a normal period since the products of conception are very small in size. You should ascertain if the abortion is complete. This can be done by a clinical exam and a trans-vaginal sonogram to look for any retained products. Please do not repeat the drug all by yourself; this will be done by the expert only if needed. Hope this helps.
