Suggest Dosage Time For Imodium Intake

I had a hemicolectomy over 30 years ago and had my ICV removed. I get really bad horrible diarrhoea when I'm anxious, upset, excited, etc. Imodium takes many hours to work so I want to take it earlier, before the event that causes the diarrhoea - e.g. a performance. How many hours beforehand should I start taking it?
