Suggest Generic Alternative To Lyrica

I am desperately looking for a generic medication for lyrica. I have used lyrica for several years and it has proven very effective for me. Changes in insurance has increased the cost to $168. monthly. I can not afford this but do not want to give up the medication. My pharmacist tells me the generic for lyrica is actually the generic for Neurontin. I can not take neurotin Please let me know if you have any advise thank you
