Suggest Healthy-carb Diet For Weight Loss

I am 4 months shy of 84yrs- I havent gained a lot of weight but I am very flabby and my usual weight of l50 thru 153- I would like to know what carbs are the better carbs or any suggestions to lose around 8-1l lbs. I fell and broke my shoulder in sept 2012-it never healed right and i was not that active during rehab. FIVE months later I had two valve repaired, a bypass, and a pacemaker-not that active during rehab- I believe my decreased activity led to flabby upper body- any suggestions would be great. THANK YOU
