Suggest Home Remedy For Consistent Cough In A Child
My son is continuously coughing for the last 1 hour. This happened as soon as we tried to put him to sleep for the night. He is 3 and half years old. The temperature in Bangalore (India) would be around 20 degree Celsius tight now. As it is the dead of night here, so most of the medical shops would be closed. Any home remedy for temporary relief til tomorrow morning that you can suggest.
As he is coughing and no temperature, I advise to: - give him plenty of fluids: water, juice. Can mix water with ORS (oral rehydration salts) to keep him well hydrated - if you have any OTC antihistamine at home, like Benadryl, you can give to him. If not, give him tea: chamomile, rosemary and bay tea to ease the cough.
Monitor his body temperature, if it is high, give antipyretics.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, this could be allergic cough and best medicine for this is pure honey at bed time try this, it is best option in pediatric age group, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
