Suggest Home Remedy For Painful Bone Growth Out Of Toe Under The Nail

I am a 15 yr. Old girl. I have a bone growing out of my big toe underneath my nail. The bone is actually sticking out - you can visibly see it (it's pink) and touch it. I've had this for about 2 years now. I took it to a doctor and they said that with time, it would go away. It hasn't gone away and I'm getting frustrated and impatient. It gets sore at times. Are there any home remedies I can use to minimize the pain or make the bone just disappear. Thank you!
