Seizures are involuntary movements, like jerking or thrashing, or experiencing unusual feelings or sensations, which can be associated with loss of consciousness or being unaware of things happening around. while in hysteria symptoms looks likes seizures but it is psychological disease. there are various causes of epilepsy and also several classifications. among which one classification is partial epilepsy as you said your wife suffered.in this partial epilepsy-the patient may loose consciousness, there may be twitching or jerking of one single part like twitching of finger or fingers, or twitching of facial muscles.
