1. Once a person gets infected with CMV [cyto megalo virus], the virus remains in body for life, going through period of dormancy & reactivation, and if dcotor say that virus is active you can pass the virus to others [at this time to your baby through placenta] which is causing delay in conceiving.
2. Research is currently underway for a potential CMV vaccine. However, there is no current cure for
CMV infection.
3. If a woman infected with CMV during her
pregnancy conceives, there is a significant risk that the developing fetus will become infected and the symptoms may be severe and can result in long-term complications, including learning difficulties, hearing problems,
pneumonia,
jaundice,
low birth weight,so presently it is best not to go for any alternate system of medicine and to remain under careful/regular supervision of your doctor/Gynecologist
4 The following precautions may help lower the risk of contracting CMV; they are especially applicable for pregnant women:
.Hand washing - wash your hands regularly with soap and water.
.Avoid sharing kitchen utensils
.Condom - during sex wear a condom to prevent the spread of CMV via vaginal fluids and semen.
