Suggest Management Of Depression With Suicidal Tendencies

I dont know if I am suffering from depression or not. But I often feel very sad with my life. I cry without any reason and I did had thoughts of committing suicide a few times. I cant concentrate at work and I don't think my relationships are going very well. This has been happening from past 3 months. Is this a clinical depression?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello Thanks for asking

You have crying spells, low mood, poor concentration at work, poor relationships etc symptoms. These symptoms points towards diagnosis of depressive disorder. You have also complaints of suicidal ideation. Suicidal thought should not be overlooked. Severe depression with suicidal thoughts required urgent psychiatric treatment. Usually anti-depressants like SSRIs are used in treatment. But if condition remain persistent then Electroconvulsive therapy is treatment of choice. Consult a Psychiatrist for expert evaluation and treatment.

Thanks
