Suggest Management Of Painless Blisters Caused By Burn

I burnt my left hand index and middle finger at three places. It has been 4 days now but the painless blisters have not subsided. Infact the blisters have become more taught. I have been told to not break the blisters and not put any ointment on them. I have also been told that breaking blisters might infect them and leave a scar. Please tell me how long will the blisters remain and if I need to put anything on them to make them heal faster.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern. you have rightly told not to break the blisters. Once you break the blister , it may become infective and would take longer time to heal.
it usually takes a weeks to 10 days time for the blisters to heal. You need not apply any creams over the blister as this would not be of any effect.
if there is an area other than the blisters which has burns apply Silverex(silver sulfadiazine) over it.
Rest assured, be patient and the blisters would heal.

Hope this helps. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
