Suggest Me Proper Protocol For Tapering The Dose Of Omnacortil For Short Period

I have started omnacortil 5 mg tds for my son suffering from LRTI with Eoasinophilia.Along with this treatment given is albendazole,antibiotics & Hetrazan 100 mg BD Treatment started from 15/02/2014 Pls suggest me proper protocol for tapering the dose of omnacortil for short period Dr Ajay Lodha

If your son on short duration on omnacortil say it 2 days you dont require any dose tapering. But as if you son is on omnacortil for prolong period week or something than you require dose tapering. tapering will reduce the withdrawl symptom of prednisolone also reduce risk of adrenal crisis. The longer you take the steroid more the tapering period. It will be reduced to 1mg per month to reduce withdrawal effect.
