Suggest Medical Tests To Rule Out Diabetes

my son has always drank alot. usually tea or juice. He is Autistic and has had blood work in the past. I recently read about T1D. Should I have to worry about my son since hes had blood work several times in his 21 years or do they have to a specific test for Diabetes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If the tests he ran resulted negative for diabetes, or sugar was found okay, then no worry for type 1 diabetes.

Drinking water is okay as long as he sweats ( if it's hot) or peeing normally. Check his kidneys also. However I still think it's not related to any organic issue but to his autistic disorder.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

All the best.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
