Hello and welcome to HCM, Bacterial vaginosis is an infectious condition characterized by colonization of the vaginal tract by pathogenic bacteria. It is caused by replacement of normal vaginal flora by pathogenic bacteria. An anti-microbial drug coverage is required to cover the entire pathogenic bacteria. Candida is a fungal infection and appropriate anti-fungal treatment is required. Your partner needs to be treated at the same time because infections of reproductive tract can get transmitted from one partner to the other.
