Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. For cold, you can take steam inhalation and do salt water gargling twice a day. 2. As, it is only upper respiratory tract infection, you can suppress cough with linctus codeine. 3. Anti histamines like cetrizine or loratidine and additionally decongestants can be used to alleviate sniffles. 4. If it persists for more than 2 days, antibiotic coverage will be necessary to avoid progression to lower respiratory tract infection, in view of your idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Correction of hypothyroidism necessary for infection to heal faster. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
