Suggest Medication For Abortion
good day doctor, is there any way i can terminate a 4 month pregnancy? in my case i can t continue having the baby cause i have taken too many medicines and herbs that might probably affect the well being of the baby. i need help. please answer. i feel helpless and confused. is there any safe and effective way? thanks..

You have completed 4 months of pregnancy. So it is more than 12 weeks and less than 20 weeks. It carries two meanings; firstly in any country where the abortion is legal, this period of pregnancy is within legal limits for termination of pregnancy. Secondly you are in the second trimester of pregnancy and hence the methods of termination differ and even it carries more risk than the first trimester termination.
Second trimester abortion procedures take time for completion of abortion. Following methods are in current use in the different part of the world:
1. Use of Mifepristone and Misoprostol or Misoprostol alone
2. Use of Ethacredine lactate extraamniotically
3. Intra amniotic instillation of hypertonic saline
4. Hysteroscopy (mini caesarean section)
The last two are almost abandoned methods for abortion.
Considering the risk and possibility of complications and percentage of medical assistance requirements, second trimester abortions should be undertaken by a specialist Obstetricians only and that too in a well equipped abortion centre. Domestic attempt of such terminations has absolutely no place whatsoever.
