Suggest Medication For Asthma In A Child

HI My son is 18 Months old and he is asthmatic, like his family history has strong background as well as he had shortness of bathe. This time his attack is not subsiding even after inhaling him with Ventolin as needed. please suggest me some test and medication for him

Use short-acting drugs to treat asthma attacks.
Avoid or minimize the effect of asthma triggers.
