Suggest Medication For Chronic Pain After A History Of Having Shoulder Surgery
I have genital herpies and have had post surg. Problems....high sedan rate . I seem to heal fine. My pain tolerance after is usually good but after a surg on my shoulder in which I was to go home with , even with a block , as my block wore off nothing helped. But Demeral . They gave me per ocean and oxycotton all made me nauseous.
Gabapentin is a drug to use for chronic pain especially if it is a nerve related pain. Amitryptiline is another medication can be used for chronic pain if it is related to nerves or not.
Your doctor will need to decide on the use of any of these medications in your case and also will need to follow you up regularly because they are generally started in low dose and then increased gradually till you find the lowest dose that helps you. Regular monitoring of the side effects is necessary as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
