Suggest Medication For Common Cold And Eustachian Tube Dysfunction
my right ear hurts, has a buzzing noise, the right side of my face is a little bit swollen, not noticeable, my submandibular right lymph node seems to be enlarged and painful from time to time, especially when I wake up and move my head and sometimes when I eat. I was diagnosed with common cold (viral) and Eustachian tube dysfunction. I am on antibiotics, 3000mg per day. I have no longer pain in my ear, but the buzzing noise. I was taking also decongestants. My question is why the node is enlarged and will it go away?
Hi, thanks for your query. Decongestant nasal drops + decongestant tablet twice daily for 5 days + steam Inhalation+ valsalva exercises are the key treatment for eustachian tube dysfunction and add on a antihistamines tablet for cold. Submandibular gland infection is not related to this cold. Gland infection can occur because of salivary calculi. Ultrasound scan of the neck and gland can tell us in detail about the calculi. Antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines are the treatment of choice for this. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
