Suggest Medication For Cough And Cold For Bypass Heart Patient

Hi Doc, I am vasu from chennai... My Father has a Bypass heart surgery last year . He is currently suffering very high cold and cough and unable to breath. He also has Asthma previously. Also the wound in leg( Where the vein was taken has suddenly leaking and puss is formed. He is admitted in the Hospital where sugery was done,Right now the Tissues are collected for an culture test. Please sujjest the best syrup to reduce cold and cough.The cold doesnot seems to be coming out of mouth. It is very hard when sleepng.Please advise

Hi, thank you for your query on health care magic.

Looking at the symptoms,your father is probably suffering from respiratory tract infection.

He may find relief by taking the following medications:
Antihistaminic like Levocetrizine,
Mucolytic like Ambroxol,
Saline nasal drops.

Drink lots of warm water.
Do steam inhalation.
Avoid cold food and dust.
Drinking a hot tea with lemon,ginger and honey will also help.
