Suggest Medication For Cough & Cold

Hi my daughter is 7 months old and she is suffering from cough and cold. Dr priscribed monticone. Is is safe to use for such a small child. I live in England. We are in Delhi for vacation. She is not eating. Her nose is blocked as well. Pls suggest what should I do.
