Suggest Medication For Cut In Upper Shin Causing Swelling And Bruise

I went on a rafting trip 3 days ago, and the river was pretty low, and didn t see the log under water, and it cut my upper shin and knee. I now have swelling, that started half way down my shin, and now it s moving further down to my ankle, and is bruised all around. Could it be infection from the cuts and the dirty river water, or is it swelling from the impact?
