Suggest Medication For Diarrhea For Diabetic Patient

Last week I had lunch at a restaurant with friends. On the way home I felt uncomfortable, and vomited at home. Later in the evening I had diarrhea. The continued 3-4 times a day for the next 3 days. Used loperamide, and Pedialyte for dehydration.. Now I have a BM once daily, but it is very soft. I am a well controlled Type 1 diabetic for 49 years. Any suggestions?

Diabetologist 's  Response
I feel you need a full course of antibiotics. A combination of fluroquinolones and ornidazole will be helpful. Rehydration will be helpful and do not use loperamide when there is active infection (gastroenteritis). It sometimes makes things worse.
Hope I have answered your query..
