Suggest Medication For Fever Blocked Nose And Pain In Eyes
Hi. Firstly, Merry Christmas. Secondly, I would like an advice, please. My 2 yrs old boy woke up with fever (39 C) and cries eyes, eyes, eyes old the time. I cleaned it - there was actually few tears to clean (otherwise seems ok) and put him back to sleep. He seems to every 1 min cry eyes. Now I gave him brufen (kids, 2.5 mil)0. so far, 5 min, is quiet now. is it normal to have eye pain? Also complained about nose (it was blocked few days ago). Thank you.
If the eyes look normal, it might be okay. Sometimes with viral fever, kids can present with burning sensation in the eyes due to the high fever. If it subsides with brufen, then don't worry. Even after 2 days, if he keeps complaining about the eye pain, take him to his peadiatrician.
In the meantime you can administer otrivin paediatric nasal drops which might provide relief from the nose block. Give him warm water to drink at regular intervals. Give brufen paediatric dose 3 times a day.
Hope this information was helpful to you ...
Regards, Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
