Suggest Medication For Hair Loss

Hello Sir,
Pranjul here, male, 24 years old.
I am having hairfall since 3-4 years and quite a bit of scalp is visible. I took medication 2 years back, which included tugain 10 % lotion, tab foliglo 100, kevon lotion and sebowash shampoo. Though it had a good effect on my hair, the result didnt last long. And now again i am having hairfall, hair thinning, dryness. I again consulted the same doctor and she prescribed me, grocapix gel, mintop forte, tab revilus OD. Also, there is heredity problem in my family with males having less hair. Please suggest me the permanent way to fix my hairfall.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

You seem to suffer from androgenetic alopecia, in which there is genetically determined patterned hair loss, manifesting as thinning of hair from the crown and vertex of the scalp and receding hair line.

While tugain lotion(minoxidil), grocapix gel are hair growth promoters but they are non-specific, which do not address the exact underlying reason, which is hormone dependent hair thinning and hair shedding.

If I was the treating doctor I would have added an oral antiandrogen e.g finasteride Or Saw palmetto extract, which inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha reductase present in hair follicle outer root sheath, and thereby specifically targets the underlying cause of hair thinning.

regards
