Suggest Medication For Infection Of Wound Post Pilonidal Cyst Removal
Hi i just recently had surgery for a pilonidal cyst removal. its been 5 weeks since my surgery and now i think the wound might be infected. i went to urgent care last weekend and they provided me with antibiotics but the infection seems to have worsened. Also i have just gotten sick this weekend with a head cold. Is it urgent that I go to the doctor right now or is it okay if i wait until tommorow afternoon?
Hi thanks for asking question. You have mentioned about infected wound. Do your CBC to see for actual severity of infection. If neutrophilia along with high total count then antibiotic has to be taken that you already taking. But if fever is above 101.5'f and total count if markedly increased then consultation of doctor is needed. Meanwhile drink more water,Eat fruits and green leafy vegetables. Avoid excess spicy food.Stool softener can be taken. Avoid smoking for few days. If that area severely affected and discharging pus then consult doctor and regular dressing necessary. I hope you understand my concern.thanks.
