Suggest Medication For Itching In The Knees And Ankles

I have terrible itching on my legs from my knees to my ankles...I have tried the usual anti-itch meds with no relief...someone told me it might be neurological and dermatological related...any suggestion for something OTC I might try...the next suggestion by my dermatologist is a medicine or injection that has lots of serious side effects...thank you

Hi.
As per your case history of itching on knee and ankle, my treatment advice is -
1. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it.
2. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching.
3. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
