Suggest Medication For Itching Sensation In The Vaginal Area

Hello. I am 52 years old. I am also a diabetic. I am on a visit to USA from Singapore and when I have the vaginal itch I normally use ZOCON AS kit, which my Dr. in India usually prescribes. Now I only brought one kit and I am wondering if this is available here in North Carolina.

Hello!
I can imagine how uncomfortable this can get.
Fungal infections of the vagina are more commonly seen in diabetics due to poorly controlled sugar levels. Vaginal itch could be due to vaginal dryness as well as a result of low levels of estrogen during menopause (I assume you have attained menopause seeing you are 52 yrs). Zocon AS is a combination of azithromycin+ flucanozole + secnidazole and I doubt it may not be available over the counter in North carolina and may require a doctor's prescription. Other kits like Monistat 7 are availble OTC and are antifungals used in vaginal itching as well.
Try to maintain good hygiene, wipe from front to back after using the washroom, avoid using excess soap or scented soaps and clean with plain water, drink plenty of water at least 2 to 3 lits in a day, change underwear twice daily, eating yogurt and curd which are rich sources of lactobacillus can help increase the normal bacteria and prevent further infections. Hope this helps. Take care!
