Suggest Medication For Itchy Scrotum

I am xxxxx , 19 yrs old, having itching in inner part of scrotum, extending upto perineum, earlier had reddish inflammation on inner thighs, which got reduced on applying topical steroidal cream, should I apply the same topical stetoidal cream on the scrotum, or resort to any other creams?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy scrotum which could be due to fungal infection mainly Tinea, as it localizes on body folds and thigh area. It could be due to bacterial infection, allergic reaction or nodular scabies. Need not to worry. I would suggest you not to worry about it. You shroud oral tablets of Terbinafine for 1 week. Apply moderately potent topical steroid of tiamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream twice daily at affected sites.You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Take tablet of cetirizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching. You should maintain complete hygiene and avoid any itching or pricking in that area.
