Suggest Medication For Lump At The Back Of The Throat

I have lumps at the back of my throat and it s all red, veiny and raw and the roof of my mouth has gone blue/ yellow with a white line down the middle. I ve had it for 18 days, but before I felt like I was all feverish and tired lots - more recently I haven t been noticing it was still there quite so much, but now it s feeling sore again like I m swallowing a plum pip or something slightly big and awkward. There s nothing stuck in my throat, however, and my tonsils are still fairly small, though a little bumpy as well.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems like you are suffering from a viral infection that is causing blisters in the mouth and throat.

Usually, viral infections of the oral cavity are not treated and the patient is asked to wait for 7-10 days with symptomatic treatment. After a week to 10 days, body's immunity takes over and the infection is eliminated.

However, as you are having this infection for about 18 days, I would suggest that you need to start antiviral therapy after going through blood tests and further investigations to confirm the viral infection.

I would advise you to visit a dentist or oral physician for the diagnosis of the disorder and investigations. After the test results come, diagnosis can be made and treatment can be started.

Till then, if the blisters are painful, you can apply local Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) over the blisters to find relief in the pain. You can also take over the counter analgesics to control pain.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
