Suggest Medication For Missed Abortion, Light Periods And Milk Discharge From Breasts

hi...i am 28yrs of age.i had missed abortion on my 7weeks,d&c done during the 12th week.now periods are coming every 32to38 days&less amount .my prolactin is little higher than the normal and little milk coming while i am pressing the breast.i have to take any medicine ?pls answer me.....

Hi,

Sometimes milk production starts early in pregnancy so abortion can lead to starting of secretion due to drop in the pregnancy continuation hormones. Irregularity in menstrual cycles and discharge from the breasts can be seen due to the high levels of serum prolactin hormone. Dopamine receptor agonists like Cabergoline can help in decreasing the serum prolactin levels and thereby regularizing the menstrual cycles and milk decreasing from the breast.

Please consult your gynecologist once, get examined and undergo a sonomammography to rule out other possible causes of breast milk discharge. And take treatment accordingly. It is better to avoid repeated testing for milk discharge as frequent friction can lead to further production of milk.
