Suggest Medication For Mucosal Thickening In Maxillary Sinuses

I Lost my sense of smell, my CT show that I have Mucosal Thickening in the Maxillary Sinuses. I have seen two ENTs , both agreed that there is no medication for loss of smell and what does show in CT is nothing. I saw a third ENT who examined me and checked my CT, said that my sinuses are very inflamed and prescribed some steroid to take by mouth, Nasal spray (Dymista) and saline. Am I in good hands?

Hi,
Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here

From your medical history it is clear that you have loss of sense of smell , medically known as Anosmia and as you have already undergone physical examination by Many ENT surgeons and went For A CT scan too
whether or not you will regain your sense of smell largely depends upon the cause of anosmia

you have mentioned that there is mucosal thickening in your maxillary sinus , this may also be related to chronic sinusitis (an infection of sinus lining) and this can be treatable ,If Mucosal growth is present, surgery may be needed to remove the obstruction and regain your sense of smell
your last ENT specialist has observed inflamed sinuses and had prescribed accordingly , you should take his treatment and see whether your condition improve or not

Sometimes a person will regain his or her sense of smell spontaneously. Unfortunately, anosmia is not always treatable, especially if age is the cause. But there are steps you can take to make living with the inability to smell more pleasant and safer. For example, put fire detectors and smoke alarms in your home and office and take extra care with leftovers. If you have any doubt about a food's safety, don't eat it.

finally i would strongly suggest you to keep treatment continue and follow your Dr

I hope it help
