Hi,

It is possible that the pain and burning sensation in your upper hand, collarbone area, and shoulder joint could be caused by nerve compression or injury. This may not be visible on an MRI or X-ray, and a nerve conduction study or electromyography (EMG) may be needed to diagnose this condition.

In terms of medication, there are a few options that may help alleviate the pain and burning sensation. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can help reduce inflammation and pain (ibuprofen or naproxen). Topical analgesics, such as lidocaine patches or creams, can also provide relief by numbing the affected area. Antidepressants, such as amitriptyline, can also be prescribed in low doses to help alleviate nerve pain.

However, it is important to discuss these options with your doctor or a pain specialist, as they can help determine the best course of treatment for your specific situation. Additionally, physical therapy or other non-medication-based treatments may also help manage your symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
