Suggest Medication For Pain And Hoarseness In Throat After Tonsillectomy.

Hi Doctor I m a 43 year old. In 2011 June I did tonsillectomy and this year around April I started having a throat irritation with voice hoarseness but was cleared without seeing a physician. On 16th July I had a terrible pain on my throat both tonsils or area of tonsils was very sore and I couldn t swallow. The pain was so excruciating even both ears were painful. I went to a physician and was diagnosed p hating it is and prescribed amoxycillin 500mg TDS with painkillers and throat lozenges. Today the problem had started again experiencing the same pain unable to swallow very painful ears. Does this mean the tonsils has recurred and what may be the cause of the recurrence? Is there any relationship between tonsils did pork? What is the best treatment?

Hello,
Tonsils once removed will not occur again.
For sore throat there can other reasons like nasal discharge or reflux of food contents in throat.
You should get checked for that.
In addition if you have snoring then that could also be the cause which causes dry throat and irritation.
In doubt do reply.
