Suggest Medication For Pain And Soreness In Genitals After Having Sex
Hi Dr, i had an intercourse last night with my husband and suddenly i had minor bleeding (very minor) i felt a litle hurt when he first entered me, the last 3 days i have been feelin sore in my genital area as well. I just wanted to know what is going on. My period just finished 7 days ago. Thanks v much.

Hallow Dear,
Since your periods have finished just 7 days ago, it must be your day 12-14 of the cycle. The cause for the bleeding may be attributed to one of following causes:
1. Since you felt hurting while he entered inside you, it is quite likely that it was rather a rough entry which could have caused little injury to the private parts giving you pain associated with little bleeding. Such injury is usually at the centre of the back edge of vaginal opening. Nothing need be done for this; just give rest to the part by observing sexual abstinence for 5 days. If it is hurting considerably, you may apply some local antiseptic or antibiotics cream. Usually the wounds in the perineal area heal by 5th day.
2. About 14th day (to be precise 14 days before the next menses) is the day of egg release. This event may be associated with little bleeding with some abdominal pain. It is known as mittlesmerch. Nothing need be done for this.
3. Watch for any such future events of bleeding after intercourse. Some times it could be due to infection or any polypoid lesion of the mouth of uterus or cancer. If the pattern recurs, you should report to a Gynaecologist for further evaluation.
However, considering your history, I feel, the first cause should be responsible for this hurting bleeding.
