Suggest Medication For Pain And Swelling Of Foot

My husband jumped a fence and fell. He claims to have heard a crunch in his foot. We put ice on it and elevated it and it swelled up. Then I put a heat pad on it and he claims it soothed it and then he took it off and he said it hurt. He wrapped it up and put the heat pad on it and elevated it and it started turning blue. Then we soaked it. What's wrong with it? And what can I do?
