Urinalysis also should be done to exclude infection as the cause of your symptoms. Healing of the cut is enhanced by using creams with zinc oxide. Avoid steroid creams. Avoid application of strong soap solutions to the genital region and douches. Avoid further intercourse until you are healed well. Avoid tampons and use sanitary pads instead.
