Suggest Medication For Pain In The Lower Back

Hi. I am a 63 year old female, 104 lbs yesterday afternoon, I lifted a case of water and put it on the floor. When I stood up, I felt like a tearing in my lower back. I m taking Adil and used ice yesterday. Anything else I can do to relieve the pain? It s worse today than yesterday.

Hi,

You can take Tizanidine in addition to Advil.
Tizanidine is a short-acting muscle relaxer. It works by blocking nerve impulses (pain sensations) that are sent to your brain. Tizanidine is used to treat spasticity by temporarily relaxing muscle tone.

Use a hard bed and be on absolute bed rest. Continue ice application and rub some analgesic tube.
If the pain does not improve in next couple of days, please visit an orthopedician, who might procure an MRI.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
