Suggest Medication For Persistent Cough In A Child

Hi Doctor, My kid is 5 year old. He has flu and on medication (Tamiflu- 6ml for twice 5 days). He has cough and running nose as well. His dotor has given only Zyrtec (1 time 2.5 ml) which is cetrizine. But i am concerned about his cough now. We are not giving any medicine for that. Can i start with ambrolite_s along with his other medicine . His weight 14.5kg.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I don't recommend you to use Ambrolite syrup. You should give him supplements to boost his immune system, use a humidifier in his room, use honey, give him plenty of fluids. If he has fever is inactive or doesn't eat well take an appointment with his doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
