Suggest Medication For Rapid Heart Beat Of Around 130 Bpm

I'm a 41 yr old female, 5'4" weight: 140lbs. I woke from a sound sleep with feeling sweaty and like my heart was racing. For the past hour I've been experiencing rapid heart up to about 130 bpm lasting approx 1-2 minutes then gradually drops to normal rate in the 60s (I have a pulse monitor for exercise). I also feel an odd sensation on the sides of neck, kind of like a tightness. No pain otherwise. My blood pressure is 124 over 77. What could this be?

Hello welcome to HCM.
The causes of Sudden onset of rapid heart rate are multiple - it varies from anxiety, fear, physical exertion like physiological causes to irregular heart beats(arrhythmias).
MY ADVICE TO YOU IS -.

1.Don't get panic frst, because anxiety will precipitates the heart rate, in most of the cases raised heart rate is due to stress..
2.Consult a cardiologist. He will advice you baseline ECG, 2 d echo. If necessary you should go for Holter monitoring (it's a 24 hours ecg monitoring) which will give you the idea about your rhythm will you have palpitations.
3.sometimes even gaseous distension of stomach will give false impression of palpitations, so avoid spicy foods if you have gaseous problem.
Please don't worry about your problem.
A good cardiologist will solve your issue easily and you will live healthy life quickly..
Thank you.
