Suggest Medication For Severe Cough In 2 Year Old

I my daughter is 2 years old, she has been sufferring from Fever,Cold, Running nose and severe cough. My doctor had suggested for Kalpol and Mucosolvin. After 3 days though she is out of fever, she have severe cough and which is preventing her to take any liquid/solid food items. My doctor has suggested for Kidpred tablet, need your suggestions
